Recommend Other Products
For many people, this next suggestion is kind of scary. Once you’ve produced a line of your own products and people have bought many of them. What’s next?
The next step is to start sending people ELSEWHERE to get complimentary or even competing products. Can this really be right? Why would you send people away from your own site? And even into the arms of your competition?
Because it’s the RIGHT thing for them. Face it, Google will allow your customers to find competing products. Why not make money as the person who introduces them to other products that may be right for them.
In this field, it’s called affiliate marketing. You send people to others with a little sticker the computer puts on their back. This sticker let’s the person who gets the visitor know that they have come from you. This is all done with the magic of computers.
At the end of the month, people will send you a check for the products that “YOUR” customers have bought from them. Many of these affiliate programs are set up so that you will get paid on every purchase that person makes, from now until doomsday.
The thinking goes like this: the people on your list will find your competitors and competing products. Why shouldn’t YOU be the one to profit from this? I would NOT recommend people and products you think had ethical shortcomings just to make money. That would be a BAD idea.
